Halloween was totally weird, I got lovely texts and pictures from Leha! It made my night~  long story short I went from work (west village) to Lower east side to st marks to WILLIAMSBURG. To alphabet city. Where I ended the night dancing at a gay bar, where I was briefly judged on if I was a woman or not for the first time ever. Since wigs = drag queen in a gay bar. GOOD TIMES :D

But hey no creepy men GROPED me so all pluses! OK well techincally I had a boob grabbed by my friends friend. But he was doing it to confirm they were REAL boobs, so not counting it.

Ahhh tomorrow I am going to buy plane tickets to Japan, thanks to Ami's help. Since he owes me major cash I am not actually going to have to pay much out of pocket. He has also offered me use of one of his AT & T phones that should work as an international prepaid phone. Also I should be able to drag my laptop with me so I can used sykpe (if he can finish fixing it for me) so I can take care of the biggest travel issue I had. Which is getting from the airport to Maebashi to vintage_belle's place. I need to find out from cactuar_tamer where she is located so I can try to make arrangements to see her as well.

Also discussed Seattle plans with Shary (my sort of godmother) she is deciding on if it would be do able to have gwingangel live there as well. Since it depends on what her school stuff and interning work was located. She was not against the idea. It was more a space issue. And lack of a 3rd proper bedroom. But I am committed to moving out to Seattle in February. So now its a matter of me saving money for all these trips and expenses. Cry cry cry.
If BB dosent move with me you can probably expect much crying about how I am all alone in an old house. I am afraid of houses guys. FOR REAL.

Work has been special times, I am partially in charge of the shop this weekend since my manager took off for a mini vacation. So I spent most of the day alone handling orders, I am apparently being trained to be like an assistant manager or something. Which was kind of surprisingly fast, I dont know if I will get official promotion in the future but the manager is expecting me to more or less handle things as such. Ffff- probably without higher wage. He kind of sprung it on me this week even though I just started.

I am one of 3 people with a key to the money box, he has made it clear he wants me to eventually handle his job. HAHAHAAAAAaaah. I am not telling him that I plan to leave in February. This weekend I am in charge of MONEY. And handing out paychecks, oh the power I have!
Graham is going to be working some shifts also, he is helping out as a scooper for cookie dough.

Otakon requires a lot of journal comics to really bring across all of the true otakon douchebaggery, but until that happens and I scan my ENTIRE sketchbook of comics this will have to surfice.

On another note I have an amusing work tale, one of my co-workers older brother stopped by today. I was off in my baked goods corner so I apparently missed him integrating his sister about me.
He wanted to know a) my name and b) if I was goth, he told her my hair was "hot" and that he wanted to see if I would go to the gothic fetish party he was going to that weekend. (he never directly got to ask me or talk to me)
I didn't hear about any of this until the end of the day. But I had a good laugh about it, although it might be less funny if he gets hired for the cafe staff. ahahaaaaah.

That smancy hotel job I missed out on is advertising for barista's again, so I am conflicted. Is it a good or bad idea to contact HR and ask them if they would reconsider me? Is that desperate?
If they agreed to reinterview me by some chance. Would I be a total whore for dyeing my hair one color before seeing them? Since I assume that was some of their issue?
Is recontacting a company taboo? ????

On one hand, I dont like my current job. Its not the kind of cafe work I like. (Although nice co-workers)
On the other it gives me motivation to move.
Fancy job is the kind of cafe I like, but would be less moving incentive. Because I like money.

BN job keeping me busy, last week was all 9-5 days, this week is closing shifts and random work days at the new and old shop. I'm filling in for the cafe servers at the soon to be close BN. My crew the "new hires" have been switching between 3 different locations for training and setting up at the new store. Which is the new flag ship store and is under ground, none of us get ANY cell service. I don't know how they think this isnt going to be an issue. Its all well and good that it stops the employee's, but NYers dont take kindly to no cell service.

I'm exhausted, but so far I haven't been getting much down time. Thursday is my only off day this week so I'm going to go see UP with wigglytype and Graham. Yaaaaaaaay. I get out of work at 8:30pm on Friday so I'm going to try and go join "Drink and draw like a lady" so I will be looking for all my comic lady friends goddamn it!
MoCCA Saturday, I might have to miss since I would have to pay to be there for only a few hours. But I'm in the area and might try to crash some dinner outing, will definitely be there sunday. My day off!

When am I going to have time to finish things or run errands???? uuuugh.

I'm going to get nothing done this week because suddenly I'm scheduled for 9-5 3 days in a row.

So my adventure began on my early morning return from Seattle on Thursday. I spent my few waking hours after my epic post flight nap running around and making book photo copies.

We had a comic and button making free labor party around 9pm, since wigglytype had some time, and gwingangel was crashing at my place that night so we could get up early Friday and head to boston.

I need to go pack! But I got that middle page scanned and lettered, on top of all the inking I did today. I am becoming a comic masochist. Oh wait I kind of already was.
Tomorrow is work Armageddon. How did I get into this? I have to make photo copies of the minis for this comic, so we can wave them around at anime boston.

So its been uh an interesting week, I got the job offer at B&N so I'm going in for a "new hire orientation" next week. Its not exactly my top Barista job choice, since it is more or less a glorified Star bucks. Its a quality step down from the kind of espresso I'm used to working with, because I'm a huge snobby coffee gourmet. But job + money + not having to dip into my savings are all big awesomes in my book. Plus given how I got the opportunity I'm not going to turn it down right now. Willing to try anyway.

My food for though in addition is Shary is encouraging me to consider moving to Seattle while I'm taking off from grad school. She has a long term boyfriend who she is half co-habiting with, so she has more or less 2 homes. She thinks it would be awesome if I settled in for awhile and looked after her house, since she has been living with her bo. I'd been fantasizing about moving from NY this year, and well its definitely do able.
SO I am sort of playing with the idea if it worked for Shary if I moved down after this summer, maybe fall or wait till winter. (Since I wanted to visit vintage_belle and cactuar_tamer in Japan in December) Since I wouldnt be going back to school till Sept.2010. I have to many conventions and trips planned this summer to really leave earlier then Sept. BUT these are just my you know musings at this point. I will however be carefully considering how able I would be able to get around and commute while visiting this month.
Since uh no way am I learning to drive.
(I do love living in NYC its a hard call. But getting away from family AND more or less NO RENT, hard to pass up!)

I was having bitchy ftp problems today so I downloaded this ftp program that runs in firefox, it works pretty good! And is less awkward looking then some ftp's I've checked out. So pleasantly surprised.

I think I have been working on convention are for at least 4 days now, and I havent been outside in at least 2 days. If only I could be so dedicated to my FINALS! Damn it. I still have doujin and shit to do. Wah time crunching!

Thursday I'm going to NJ to work at gwingangels place, AND have a potential client meeting that night.MORE TIME CRUNCH. If I just bought a damn laptop I'd be feeling less travel anxious about getting everything done.
BUT HMM. Seems like a bad investment given my jobless ness. :/ Still havent heard from B&N so I am pretty certain that aint happening. Which is fine I guess, since if I land a gig at a nice coffee shop I'd make more per hour.
Need to remember to eat real food again.
